3. July 2019

As part of the “11th Innovation World Cup,” the logistics and fulfillment service provider LOXXESS AG is announcing a special award with the “Logistics Game Changer.” With the award, LOXXESS is looking for the most innovative and imaginative logistics start-ups in the world. The winners can look forward to a cash prize worth EUR 10,000 and the opportunity to test and continue to develop their project together with LOXXESS experts at one of their logistics facilities.

The far-reaching and advancing digitization as well as the speed with which the IoT, networked software and “Industry 4.0” are together shaping and changing modern logistics are formidable. Innovative products, technologies and new mobility concepts are needed here to be able to use and make locations, working environments and goods even more efficiently and intelligent.

With the announcement of the special award for the logistics sector, the “Logistics Game Changer”, logistics and fulfillment service provider LOXXESS AG, Unterföhring is looking for the innovative leaders in logistics and the designers of their future. Application can now be submitted. The award will be given out at the end of October 2019 as part of the “11th Innovation World Cup” initiated by Navispace AG. As part of the “Innovation World Cup Series,” it is the largest open innovation platform in the world and reaches approximately 700,000 tech experts every year. All start-ups, scale-ups and small and medium-sized companies with innovative and intelligent logistics solutions are called upon to participate in the tender. The winners will not only receive a cash prize worth EUR 10,000, but will also receive the unique opportunity to practically test and continue to develop their project with LOXXESS experts at logistics facilities.

For LOXXESS, the topic of innovation is one of their strategic top goals. “Digitization will change our industry forever. That is why we want to be ‘game changers’ here and actively develop and advance the best new digital solutions as one of the first users. I am certain that the ‘Logistics Game Changer’ will offer us new opportunities and interesting prospects,” explains Christina Thurner, member of the LOXXESS senior management.

There are plenty of specific examples of the spirit of innovation at the medium-sized family-owned and operated company. LOXXESS has been using the warehouse optimization software LOS from Heureka Business Solutions at its Bor location near the Czech border since 2018, for example. The software uses artificial intelligence to support LOXXESS’s own warehouse management software and won the “Best Product” award at the intralogistics trade fair LogiMat 2019 in the category of “Software, Communication, IT.”

In addition, LOXXESS has already been using Google Glasses in the order picking process since 2017. The glasses are intended to increase productivity and reduce errors in the picking process. The technology for this was developed by LOXXESS together with the start-up Picavi.

Their commitment to the topic of innovation made LOXXESS a sought-after medium-sized company at the “Innovation Journey ‘Future Mobility & Logistics’” held as part of the transport logistic 2019. Christina Thurner took part in a panel discussion in this context. “At transport logistic and especially at “Innovation Journey,” we were able to once again gain good insights into the highly dynamic nature of the logistics sector. With the ‘Logistics Game Changer,’ it is exactly this dynamic nature that we want to continue to support and pave the way for young companies with promising applications. We are looking forward to seeing exciting ideas and innovative approaches,” said Thurner at the expert panel.

The deadline to submit applications for the “Logistics Game Changer” is September 18, 2019. For more information, please visit www.innovationworldcup.de
