LOXXESS AG, a medium-sized logistics company specializing in complex logistics and value-added services and headquartered in Tegernsee, Germany, presents this year’s Christmas donation of 10,000 euros to the Arche recreational facility in Munich’s Moosach district. In view of increased inflation and the higher cost of living, LOXXESS aims to support socially disadvantaged children and families in Germany in particular.

The Arche Children’s Foundation, a Christian children’s and youth organization, is committed to improving the living conditions of children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Across Germany, around 4,000 young people benefit from the services offered by Arche; at the site in the north of Munich, there are around 120. The diverse offers are free of charge for children and young people and their families. This includes a full, hot meal every day, homework assistance and school tutoring, as well as recreational activities with other children according to individual needs. Open sports activities, crafts, field trips, birthday parties and vacation camps are among the activities offered. In this way, young people are encouraged to discover and develop their skills, build healthy self-esteem, form and maintain relationships with others, and deepen academic learning processes. In addition to socio-educational support, there is a wide range of counseling and activities specifically for parents.

“Child poverty in Germany is on the rise, and at the same time, basic services are currently becoming more and more expensive. As a charitable organization, we at the Arche want to offer children and young people encouragement and support that enables them to participate in society. The youngest members of society must not be forgotten in times of crisis. They are the society of tomorrow. This cannot be pointed out often enough. We are grateful that LOXXESS is once again providing us with funds for our work,” says Larissa Rauter, facility manager of  Arche Munich.

“As a family business with regional roots, we want to give something back to the people. Children and young people should be able to develop their interests and strengths and pursue their dreams. It is with great respect that we again support the Arche project, which already provided important help for families during the coronavirus pandemic and now in the difficult economic situation,”says Dr. Claus-Peter Amberger.

LOXXESS AG, a medium-sized logistics company specializing in complex logistics and value-added services with headquarters in Tegernsee, Germany, has reached a new milestone realizing its sustainability concept. The consistent reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by a total of 23.86% percent per warehouse square meter within the last five years has now been honored by the award of the “Lean and Green 1st Star” from GS1 Germany.

The initiative aims to motivate and enable logistics and transport companies to create transparency regarding their CO2 emissions and define a package of measures to reduce them. Participation in “Lean and Green” gives LOXXESS access to the community of participating companies and experts in addition to the step-by-step certification, so that a transfer of knowledge and best practices can take place.

On October 20, Hermann Zwingel, Sustainability Manager and Environmental Management Officer at LOXXESS, accepted the “Lean and Green 1st Star” at the German Logistics Congress. The award confirms that the required reduction in CO2 emissions was realized retroactively to 2017. “We have continuously differentiated our sustainability strategy since 2016 and obtained a comprehensive overview of our CO2 emissions as part of ‘Lean and Green.’ On this basis, we have defined and implemented numerous measures such as photovoltaic systems, a combined heat and power plant, and electric and hybrid cars for employees,” emphasizes LOXXESS CEO Dr. Claus-Peter Amberger. “Now we are pleased to have achieved our first goal on the road to CO2 avoidance and to be able to hold the award for our efforts in our hands.”

Having successfully completed the first stage of the program, LOXXESS next defines the measures that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an additional ten percent over another three years.

As a medium-sized family business, LOXXESS attaches great importance to sustainable and resource-saving management. The logistics service provider achieves this, among other things, through the ecologically sustainable construction of the logistics properties, resource-saving operation, and continuous efficiency gains in the logistics processes.

Logistics and fulfillment service provider LOXXESS AG, from Tegernsee, received construction approval for expanding its logistics and fulfillment facility in Aurach on June 27, 2022. The reason for the expansion is to increase automation and capacity in the fulfillment solutions sector, in particular to be able to meet the growing demand from customers in the beverage and food trades. Approximately 6 million euros were invested in this project.

The facility’s total storage and logistics area is 51,000 m², of which 6,000 m² is taken up by the new building. It provides customers with flexible truck access with side loading and unloading and ramp deliveries. The central location of our Aurach facility in central Franconia with both east/west and north/south connections and a direct link to the A6 motorway enables us to provide optimum transport options.

The family-owned company is using its e-commerce expertise to focus on the new customer requirements at this multi-user facility. Consumer behavior is changing rapidly and shifting significantly to online retailing. Order peaks and seasonal fluctuations are flexibly handled through combined logistics strategies. On the one hand, employees have omni-channel know-how and can be deployed in the right place as needed because they have cross-project training. Artificial intelligence also supports many of the administrative tasks. Physical processes can be optimized primarily through specific incoming goods and quality controls as well as largely automated intralogistics using modern pick and conveyor solutions as well as continuous traceability using scanning technology.

Dr Claus-Peter Amberger, CEO of LOXXESS AG, emphasizes the logistics innovations now being used in the food sector: “We have expanded our 360° services, especially for B2C logistics, so that we can meet the specific criteria stipulated by our customers. The warehousing concept in Aurach also features temperature-monitored storage. Seamless temperature adherence along the supply chain is fundamental for temperature-sensitive goods”.

Seven core industries are already serviced at the facility. The extension building was planned by LOXXESS AG itself and built in an ecological way. A photovoltaic system supports the emission-reduced energy supply.

The drugstore retailer has been implementing its omni-channel strate-gy right from the very beginning and is continuing its proven cooperation with logis-tics service provider LOXXESS and its innovative concept for online retailing logistics. The new hall now provides 16,500 m2 warehouse and logistics area and it has been in operation since the end of April.

LOXXESS AG, a medium-sized logistics company specializing in complex logistics and value-added services and headquartered in Tegernsee, Germany, is continuing its successful growth course together with its “dm-drogerie markt” partner. LOXXESS has commissioned an additional logistics facility in the “Warsaw II logistics center” in order to implement this market entry into the online business for the entire Polish market and to establish the logistics processes.

This logistics park, where LOXXESS has been operating since 2020 on behalf of various customers in the cosmetics, drugstore, luxury food and printed matter sectors, is located about 25 kilometers west of Warsaw, the Polish capital. This infrastructural connection is superbly located for supplying the domestic market. Warsaw Airport, which is only 15 minutes away, provides simultaneous connectivity to international supply chains.

Energy-saving LED lighting is installed throughout the facility and there is also a photovoltaic system on the roof as well as excellent insulation. Additional daylight enters the premises thanks to the skylights. The facility has BREEAM certification (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) that also contributes to LOXXESS’ sustainability strategy.

Everything that has been developed at the Czech site in Bor and successfully integrated into the processes was implemented in the new Warsaw facility right from the very beginning: the “SMILE – Smart and Innovative: e-commerce logistics” AI solution. All of the special requirements needed for handling food, hazardous substances as well as organic certification were integrated in the system. Transport and CEP service providers were seamlessly connected into the “dm-drogerie markt” processes thanks to the expertise already available at the facility. This meant that LOXXESS was able to guarantee that the online shop processes would be stable right from the go-live point.

Christian Bodi, dm’s managing director responsible for logistics, commented on the successful start: “the e-commerce logistics cooperation that we have seen in the German market completely won us over thanks to the excellent flexibility and know-how shown by the LOXXESS team on many occasions. We know that with LOXXESS we have a strong logistics partner at our side, with whom we can implement our ambitious project in the Polish market”.

Dr Claus-Peter Amberger, CEO of LOXXESS AG, emphasizes the importance of the new facility for the company’s success: “at our Warsaw facility, we have shown how we have opened up another successful chapter with our partner thanks to years of excellent cooperation, further joint development and growth and a willingness to innovate”.

The on-site team will be continuously increased as part of the planned expansion and up to 80% of it will involve our own personnel. This will enable LOXXESS to guarantee a reliably high level of service quality for its customers and also support the planned 2023 growth by building up new capacities.

LOXXESS AG is a medium-sized logistics company that specializes in complex logistics and value-added services and has its headquarters in Tegernsee, that donates 10,000 euros each year to a charitable organization or facility in the region. This year it was awarded to Arche, the national Christian children’s and youth organization, at their Munich-Moosach facility.

Every day Arche cares for around 120 children and youngsters in the north of Munich. There are a wide range of leisure activities available to them such as handicrafts, choir singing, games and sports activities, birthday parties and excursions in addition to a hot meal and homework supervision. Great importance is also attached to socio-educational support and various offers of help for socially disadvantaged people and these offers are also aimed at the parents of children and youngsters.

“The youngest in society are the ones who are hardest hit by the pandemic and its effects in all areas of everyday life. That’s why we are especially grateful that companies like LOXXESS are committed to their region and are giving something back”, said Larissa Rauter, facility manager at Arche in Munich.

The planned expansion at our LOXXESS facility in Aurach in the Ansbach region of central Franconia was celebrated on October 7 through the symbolic laying of the foundation stone. The logistics service provider is investing around 5 million euros in order to create a new zone that is especially needed for dealing with the increased demands from the food and beverage sector. This expansion will enable temperature-monitored storage to be used in order to comply with the special requirements of this sector. Up to 30 new jobs will be created at the facility as a result of this expansion.

In attendance when the foundation stone was laid were Dr Claus-Peter Amberger, CEO of LOXXESS, Patrick Mense, a member of the management team and Enrico Schulze, the facility manager. Mayor Simon Göttfert and two local councilors attended the ceremony on behalf of the municipality.

The mayor of Aurach is delighted with the positive contribution the company is making to the community: “LOXXESS is not only an important factor for our local community and the business hub as an employer, but they are also involved socially. This expansion will consolidate the excellent cooperation between us”.

Dr Claus-Peter Amberger, CEO of LOXXESS AG, acknowledged the successful cooperation in a short speech: “We are pleased that we are able to start the construction work on time and make this important expansion here at our Aurach fulfillment facility. We owe this in particular to the trusting cooperation with the municipality. This expansion will enable us to optimally respond to the increased demands for e-commerce logistics, especially those from the food sector“.

LOXXESS carried out the expansion planning in-house and special consideration was given to sustainability. In addition to the ecological design, a photovoltaic system and a combined heating and power plant will ensure sustainable energy supplies with reduced emissions.

The site will have a total of 51,000 m2 of logistics and warehouse zones after completion. The new zones will easily meet the B2C logistics requirements in the food-related environment. LOXXESS provides services for customers from various sectors in Aurach as well as comprehensive fulfillment and contractual logistics services that include value-added services as well as customs services. The family-owned company also handles accounts receivable or order management for well-known customers, which can include the activation and “distribution” of digital products such as app services in addition to physical returns management.

These all-round services are supported by a modern customer care service center in Berlin that provides specific customer care and product information services.

LOXXESS AG, the logistics and fulfillment service provider from Tegernsee, has also acquired all of the shares of our previously co-invested partners, Aenova Holding GmbH, Alloga S.à.r.l. and Haupt Pharma Wolfratshausen GmbH. LOXXESS Pharma has its headquarters in Neutraubling near Regensburg and it provides modular logistics and distribution solutions for customers from the pharmaceutical industry, the medtech sector as well as the premium cosmetics market and it currently employs 180 people at three facilities in Bavaria. Around 1.2 billion pharmaceutical packages are handled every year. LOXXESS AG also has a strong network and many years of expertise from working with customers in the pharmaceutical logistics sector, e.g.with HARTMANN at our Henstedt-Ulzburg facility.

“This takeover will enable us to bundle the strengths and expertise of both companies and create new synergies. Given that the complexity of pharmaceutical products will increase and the market will continue to grow in the future, both companies are now superbly positioned for planned facility expansions”, explained LOXXESS director, Christina Thurner.

Since it was founded in 2000, LOXXESS Pharma, like LOXXESS AG, has grown organically whilst providing high-level services, as proven by its commitment to complying with the GDP (Good Distribution Practice) and GSP (Good Storage Practice) guidelines. LOXXESS Pharma is already active throughout Europe: The specialized service provider has modular access to services in 15 European countries through its integration in the Alloga Europe network. These services and the network will be expanded in the future to include other LOXXESS facilities in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Otto Prange, previous chairman of the advisory board who was representing Aenova, commented on the transaction as follows: “Merging the shares into a single holding under the proven expertise of the LOXXESS shareholders will bring important advantages to LOXXESS Pharma. This will enable the company to further expand its multi-national distribution solutions in the future. It will also open up new market opportunities for the joint customers – so in this respect the merging of the shares by LOXXESS is a logical and correct step“.

On behalf of his management colleagues, Dr Beate Grudzus-Zager and Dr Tilman Spaethe, Johann Strobl, the Operations | Digital | Sales managing director at LOXXESS Pharma said: “Operational cooperation with LOXXESS can be further expanded as a result of them acquiring all of the shares. At the same time, we will continue to operate independently in our segment as a specialized service provider for the pharmaceutical market and we will be able to meet future customer requirements with innovative concepts and services”.

LOXXESS AG employs around 2,600 people at its 26 facilities in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. The logistics service provider has a total of 600,000 m2 of covered warehouse space and had a turnover of 175 million euros in 2020.
