Peter Amberger Celebrates His 80th Birthday and Hands Over the Chairmanship of the Supervisory Board to Christina Thurner

  • On his 80th birthday, Peter Amberger hands over the chairmanship of the LOXXESS AG Supervisory Board to Christina Thurner
  • Claus-Peter Amberger remains a member of the Supervisory Board
  • LOXXESS continues to move forward with the previously announced conversion of LOXXESS AG into a European Company (SE)

A significant change is on the horizon at LOXXESS: Peter Amberger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and founder of LOXXESS AG, will turn 80 on October 22 and will hand over the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board to his daughter, Christina Thurner. “After building up, merging, and selling Amberger Spedition; acquiring and restructuring trans-o-flex twice; and seeing LOXXESS successfully led today by my children Claus-Peter Amberger and Christina Thurner, I no longer have any excuses: I am handing over the chairmanship to someone else,” said Peter Amberger during a celebration honoring his significant life’s work.

Dr. Claus-Peter Amberger has been a member of LOXXESS’s Executive Board since 2010; in 2015, Christina Thurner joined him as co-CEO. Together, they have continued to build and expand the company. This growth is also reflected in the key figures: Today, LOXXESS has over 400,000 square meters of covered warehouse space across 24 locations in Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Revenue in 2025 totaled approximately 330 million euros. “When I look at today’s figures, I almost turn a little pale with envy,” said Peter Amberger. With Christina Thurner as Chair of the Supervisory Board and Dr. Claus-Peter Amberger as a member of the Supervisory Board, he feels his life’s work is in good hands.

The change in the Supervisory Board does not affect the composition of the Executive Board of LOXXESS AG. At the same time, LOXXESS is preparing to convert the AG into a European Company (SE). With this new legal form, the company is strengthening its European focus and creating additional flexibility for its future development.
