LOXXESS pharma & healthcare and MSK Pharma Group have established a joint venture: Narcotic Solutions provides one-stop logistics services for narcotics and medical cannabis (MedCan) for the German market. Any company wishing to distribute narcotics or medical cannabis in Germany must use a national warehouse and appropriate distribution structures that meet the highest security, documentation, and quality standards. To this end, the two partners are combining their strengths in the specialized joint venture Narcotic Solutions. This venture encompasses a specialized infrastructure, in-depth operational expertise in narcotics and medical cannabis, and regulatory know-how. Clients have access to the large and experienced quality team from both family-owned companies.
“Medical cannabis, controlled substances, and highly regulated pharmaceuticals require the highest standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and resilient supply chains. As family-owned businesses, both partners are committed to sustainable business practices. The clear support of our owners gives us the confidence to reliably implement this collaboration in the best interests of our clients, to make targeted investments in safety and compliance, and to develop the business in a financially sustainable manner,” says Robert Mauermann, a member of the LOXXESS Group’s Executive Board.
A Specialized Facility
In Meerbusch, North Rhine-Westphalia, there is a state-of-the-art, dedicated facility for the storage and distribution of controlled substances and medical cannabis that meets the highest security standards. This facility combines specialized security infrastructure with pharmaceutical process expertise, including a narcotics license, a wholesale license, GDP/GMP compliance, serialization, quality controls, and support for customer-specific quality management systems.
“We are planning for sustainable and organic growth in our logistics services for narcotics and medical cannabis from Germany to Europe. Together, we offer specialized expertise in narcotics and the full range of expertise from two experienced, family-run pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics providers,” says Simon Hess, CEO of the MSK Pharma Group.
When it comes to narcotics and medical cannabis in particular, the challenge doesn’t end with secure storage: Regulatory requirements, permits, documentation obligations, and changing market conditions continually present pharmaceutical companies with complex questions—and LOXXESS and MSK provide the answers through their joint offering. This goes beyond logistics, as it helps ensure that essential medications remain available.
