Loxxess is Expanding Logistics for Vodafone

29. September 2020

Since 2011, Loxxess has been handling logistical processes for Vodafone Germany’s cable division for 13 federal states. The contract for these logistics services has now been extended by four years and also expanded to include the Vodafone cable division in the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg. The background for this is Vodafone’s takeover of the former company Unitymedia.

Loxxess AG, a medium-sized logistics company specialized in complex logistics and added-value services, has been handling around two million orders for its customer Vodafone annually since 2011. By expanding the contract to include all federal states, Loxxess now offers an extensive range of services nationally for the entire Vodafone cable division, from goods receipt, warehousing, distribution to B2B and B2C customers, to returns handling, rework and refurbishment.

As of May 01, 2021, Loxxess will start the logistical handling of all processes in three additional federal states – and therefore for the entire cable division of Vodafone. The available storage capacity will be increased to over 16,000 square meters so that the volume can be increased from 7,000 to 13,000 orders per day. The additional services and the expansion of the number of items will create additional jobs, increasing the number of employees from 200 to a total of 350.

Daniel Zentgraf, responsible among other things for the procurement of logistics services at Vodafone Germany, is satisfied: “In the cooperation with Loxxess so far, we have been able to optimally adapt the processes to our needs while implementing innovative solutions. We are glad that logistics for the three new federal states could be seamlessly integrated into the existing processes.”

During the long-standing partnership, Loxxess and Vodafone optimized important logistical processes in the context of the joint sustainability strategy. In the summer of 2019, for example, both parties implemented an environmentally-friendly reusable transport container system. The plastic transport containers have a high load capacity, withstand about 60 transport cycles and can then be recycled.

“For us, Loxxess is a great success and an important sign that we can continue to support our long-standing customer Vodafone and also intensify our cooperation. This shows that our partners repeatedly rely on our experience and expertise. By investing in new logistics areas, we are also ensuring that we can meet our customer’s future growth,” says Dr. Claus-Peter Amberger, CEO of Loxxess AG, pleased.

Loxxess includes the Consumer Electronics and Media Products division as one of its core areas of expertise and, in addition to warehousing and distribution logistics, they also offer their customers repair and reconditioning work in this area.
